33rd BLOSSBURG STATE COAL FESTIVAL
Be part of the celebration in Blossburg for the 33rd Annual Blossburg State Coal Festival!
The Coal Festival is a celebration commemorating Blossburg and the surrounding area’s rich mining history and the diversity of the region’s ancestors. The first Coal Festival was held Memorial Day weekend in 1993, 201 years after coal was discovered in Blossburg. The event continues to be held on Memorial Day weekend each year when family and friends gather to celebrate!
Thursday, May 22 – presentation the night before the festival
6:00 – Tioga: From River to Railroad – the history of location coal transportation (held at the Blossburg Memorial Library)
Friday, May 23
5:00 – Vendors open
5:00 – General store opens
5:00 – Inflatables and games open
6:00 – Blossburg Rhythm & Twirl Demonstration
7:00 – Dance in he pavilion hosted by Angela Roosa & DJ Brian
Saturday, May 24
9-Noon – car and bike show registration
11:00 – Parade (lineup at 10:00)
Noon – Chicken BBQ (sold on the Island)
Noon – Facepainting, Car/ bike show, Vendors, inflatables and games open, General store opens, Quilt Show
1:00 – Southern Tioga Jazz Ensemble Performance
2:00 – Alexis Bradford performance
2:30 – Blossburg Rhythm & Twirl Demonstration
3:00 – car show judging
3:00 – Cirkus Zirkus performance
6:00 – Under the Covers performance
9:00 – Fireworks (dusk)
